3. How the App Functions

QuickRadio is designed to stream internet radio stations directly on your Mac. The App:

  • Connects to radio station streams when you select a station
  • Fetches publicly available metadata (song title, artist name) directly from the stream
  • Sends search queries to the dar.fm directory service to retrieve publicly available station listings — no personal identifiers are attached to these requests
  • Stores your station list and preferences locally on your Mac
  • Does not create user profiles or accounts
  • Does not track your usage or behavior
  • Does not use any analytics or tracking services

4. Network Connectivity

The App requires network connectivity to function. While you must connect to a network to stream radio, we do not collect any information about your network connection, including:

  • Network names or passwords
  • Network performance data
  • Connection logs or history
  • Data usage statistics

5. Permissions

The App may request the following permissions to function properly:

  • Internet Access: Required to connect to radio station streams and fetch station metadata

These permissions are used solely for the App’s core functionality and do not enable any data collection.

6. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party services, including:

  • Analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics)
  • Advertising networks
  • Social media platforms
  • Crash reporting services
  • Cloud storage services

The App connects only to radio station streams and the dar.fm public directory to retrieve station listings.

7. Data Security

Since the App does not collect, store, or transmit any user data, there is no user data at risk of unauthorized access or disclosure. Your station list and preferences are stored locally on your device only.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Since we do not collect any data whatsoever, the App is safe for use by people of all ages.

We do not retain any user data because we do not collect any user data.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy.

Summary

In plain language: QuickRadio is designed for one simple purpose — to let you listen to internet radio stations directly from your Mac menu bar. We don’t collect, store, or share any information about you. We don’t use analytics, advertising, or tracking. The app simply connects to radio streams when you pick a station and plays them on your device. That’s it.
